What began as a small venture trading t-shirts in KwaZulu-Natal soon evolved into something much greater. Dave McClenaghan and his wife, Veronique, laid the foundation for what would become Vic Bay. After relocating to George, Dave’s innovative mindset, perseverance, and unwavering determination drove the brand’s remarkable growth and success.

Today, Vic Bay stands out as one of South Africa’s few vertically integrated apparel manufacturers — managing the entire process from raw cotton to finished garment, all in-house.

Our factory is based in George, the sixth-oldest town in South Africa and the heart of the scenic Garden Route. Surrounded by natural beauty and rich history, it’s the perfect setting for our operation.

Just 9km away is Victoria Bay — a beloved local surf destination and the very place where Dave and Veronique’s three sons grew up catching waves. It was these early days on the shore that inspired the name "Vic Bay," lovingly coined by their children.
